Autism-friendly Vacations

In 2016, the Centers for Disease Control’s Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring (ADDM) reported that approximately 1 in 68 children in the United States has been identified with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).” According to Autism Speaks this constitutes “1 in 42 boys and 1 in 189 girls.”

This being said, do you understand what autism is and how to interact with a person with autism?  Does Autism touch your life in any way? Do you know anyone who has autism or whose life is touched by Autism is any way?

I am Arlene Colavito, a retired teacher from a small school “established for students who have learning difficulties and are struggling in their school environment.”  It was here that I worked with children on the Autism Spectrum and realized that not only in the classroom but also on the playground were the children learning.  I, therefore, decided to “retire” and open TravelTrends, an agency specializing in vacations for people with developmental challenges.  In coordination with Beaches Resorts (Sesame Street) and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, I have begun to develop a cost effective program for you.
